St Edmund's Primary School
I taught gymnastics and volunteered as a PE assistant at St Edmund's Primary School from 2015 to 2018.
St Edmund's Primary School, London
'Love, Care, Share'
The School teaches Physical Education, from Reception (The Fondation Stage) untill Year 6, to develop motor skills and fitness by following the National Curriculum. I ran the school's gymnastics club, once a week, providing gymnastics coaching to children from Key Stage 1 (5-7 years of age) and Key Stage 2 (7-11 years of age) at the school hall as part of their extra-curricular activities from January 2015 to July 2018. I also volunteered as a PE assistant at St Edmund's School for all these years, and it was a great opportunity for me to be mentored by the school's PE teacher, Mr. W. Silva, who pays attention to every detail in the teaching process.
I conducted part of my PhD research at the School
I conducted health-related physical fitness assessments, nutritional assessments, and physical activity assessments with students from St Edmund's Primary School. The children participated in those assessments as part of the control group in my PhD study. Thank you to Mr Silva (on the photo above) for his support.
I was featured in the School Newsletter twice
- May 2016: Congratulations to Mr Kolimechkov, our gymnastics coach, for his gold medal winning performance on the rings »
- June 2018: Congratulations to Mr Kolimechkov (who runs our gymnastics club and supports classes in PE) who has completed his PhD in physical education »
I was featured on the School's Website
I was featured on the School Board
Thank you to St Edmund's School and particularly Mr Silva for placing some of my photos from the 2016 London Regional Challenge on the School's PE board and recognising my result, and for all their support throughout the years.
